The railway launches a new, distinguished service for the first time with mixed trains between Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and vice versa.

In a step aimed at improving the quality of services provided to the public of passengers and stimulating domestic tourism in Upper Egypt, the Egyptian National Railway Authority announced the operation of a new distinguished service. This service includes the operation of 3 special trains with mixed carriages combining (sleeping and VIP Premium seating), in order to respond to the increasing demand and provide the utmost comfort for travelers.

Details of the new service (Sleeping/Sitting VIP Premium)

This service is a qualitative leap in Upper Egypt trains, as it allows the passenger the luxury of choosing between sleeping cars or premium VIP seats in one trip. The train times are set as follows:

1. Flights from Cairo to Aswan and Luxor:

Train No. 1090: It departs on February 1, 2026 only from Upper Egypt station at 22:55, and arrives at Aswan station at 10:10 am. Starting from Saturday, 2/7/2026, it departs from Cairo station at 22:40, and will operate on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays of each week.

Train No. 1092: departs on February 4, 2026 only from Upper Egypt Station at 22:55, and arrives at Luxor Station at 07:20 in the morning.

2. Return flights from Aswan to Cairo:

Train No. 1091: It departs from Sunday, February 8, 2026, January 31, 2026, and February 2, 2026 only from Aswan Station at 16:50, arriving at Upper Egypt Station at 04:35 in the morning, and arriving at Cairo Station at 04:50 in the morning, provided that it operates on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays of each week.

The Authority confirmed that the operation of these special trains comes within the framework of its continuous endeavor to provide diverse and comfortable alternatives for travelers to Luxor and Aswan, coinciding with the winter tourist season. The authority stressed that it does not hesitate to provide the best services that suit the passenger public and keep pace with the comprehensive development processes witnessed by the railway facility.
